Chris Cooke is principal and senior institutional consultant at Cooke Financial Group and serves as a board member of Sanctuary Wealth Partners. In 2016, Chris and his brother oversaw the Cooke Financial Group merger with the Noyes Group, LLC, thus laying the groundwork for the formation of Sanctuary Wealth Partners, of which the Cooke Financial Group was the inaugural partner team.
Chris joined the Cooke Financial Group in 1992 and was the company’s managing director of investments. Before that, he was an accountant at Ernst & Young. His experience and background — especially in auditing and performance measurement — have played a key role in his clients’ and the Cooke Financial Group’s success. His specialties at Cooke Financial Group currently include wealth management, retirement planning, and estate planning. Chris is a non-practicing CPA-attorney and a member of the Indiana Bar Association specializing in estate, tax, and cash flow planning and fiduciary liability.
He earned the professional designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA) in 2000. Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. with a focus on tax law from the Indiana University Law School-Indianapolis.
Chris has received numerous awards and has been recognized nationally as a leading investment Advisor. Most recently, he was named to Forbes’ 2019 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list, as well as to both Forbes’ 2018 Top 250 Wealth Advisors and Forbes’ 2018 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors lists. Chris also was named to the Financial Times Top 400 in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He was named to the Barron’s Top 1200 in 2015 and 2016 and Top 1000 from 2010 to 2014. From 2010 to 2016, he was named a Top Advisor for the State of Indiana and was awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager award for the years 2012 to 2015. He has been a speaker before the Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors on multiple occasions; most recently in 2015 at the Barron’s Top Teams Conference. He received national recognition as a 2007 Outstanding Advisor by Registered Representative magazine.
Chris has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Indianapolis Business Journal, and other national and local publications. Since 1996, Chris has been a member of the Wells Fargo Advisors Premier Advisors Recognition Council, which honors financial Advisors for their professional achievements.
Chris takes great pride in giving back to the Indianapolis community. He has been actively involved with Conner Prairie, an interactive history museum and Smithsonian affiliate for more than 20 years and currently serves as the chairman of the Conner Prairie Foundation Board of Directors. Chris is also a board member at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Fishers, Indiana, where he resides with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children. In his free time, Chris enjoys waterskiing, tennis, horseback riding, and studying history.
